FAQs

What's the difference between Vox and Domus?

Vox is a short video interview (~15 min) where you share your opinion about food products. Domus is a full in-home test — we ship food samples to your door and you record your cooking and eating experience. You can sign up for one or both.

How often will I be asked to test?

It depends on your location and our current projects. Most testers participate in 1–3 tests per month. You can always decline if a test doesn't suit you.

How much will I get paid?

Compensation varies depending on the type and complexity of the test. You'll always know the amount before you accept a test.

What happens to my video recording?

Your face is automatically masked by AI. Videos are analyzed by our system and securely stored in compliance with GDPR. We never share raw footage.

Do I need special equipment?

Just a smartphone with a camera and internet connection. We provide simple setup instructions inside the app.

Why does the app ask for my address?

We use your location to match you with food studies running in your region — much of our research focuses on specific areas. For Domus tests, your address is also where we ship the food samples. Your details are encrypted and stored in line with GDPR, and never shared.

Can I delete my account?

Yes. You can delete your account at any time from the You tab in the Eatpol app, and your data is removed in line with GDPR.

What is the Eatpol food tester program, and is it free?

The Eatpol food tester program is a free way to get paid for your opinion on food. Once you download the app, you can join paid studies — quick video interviews (Vox) or in-home product tests (Domus). It's free to join, there's no subscription, and you're never locked in: you choose which studies you take.

Do I need an MBA, a degree, or experience to become a food tester?

No. You don't need an MBA, a degree, or any prior experience to become a food tester (also called a food taster) with Eatpol. Anyone aged 18 or older can take part — just download the app, create your profile, and start joining paid studies. We're looking for everyday eaters, not experts.

Can I get paid to taste and test food from home?

Yes. Most studies are done from home: Vox interviews are recorded on your phone, and for Domus product tests we ship food samples to your door so you taste and test them in your own kitchen. You'll see the payout before you accept a study, and you're paid within a few business days.

Is being a food tester a job with a salary?

Being a food tester with Eatpol isn't a traditional job with a fixed salary — it's flexible, paid participation. You're paid per study you choose to complete, the amount is shown upfront, and you're never obliged to take a study. Many people do food tester studies from home as a way to earn some extra money in their spare time.
